I create mixed-media paintings that feature landscapes and the natural world of Santa Cruz and beyond. My passion for design and illustration come together in my work in the form of paint, stenciled patterns, and collage elements—usually from old surfing magazines. From a distance, my paintings look rather painterly but look closely and you’ll see layers of various media and hidden graphic treasures. Upon finishing a piece I apply a layer of gloss leveling gel to enhance the detail, color, and vibrancy of the piece. I also apply a UV protectant to protect the art from sunlight.

After years of being a successful graphic designer/Art Director and Creative Director, I'm back to doing what I love, painting things near and dear to my soul. Creating these pieces gives me an opportunity to showcase my beloved hometown and all of its natural beauty. My hope is to inspire others to appreciate and protect our extraordinary natural environments. Thanks for reading and visiting my shop.
